Rocky J. Rose
Rocky J. Rose is a seasoned corporate and creative writer based in Melbourne, Victoria, with a decade of experience in the industry. Rocky has crafted over 50 television commercials for a diverse range of clients worldwide, from billion-dollar corporations to tech startups in Silicon Valley. In addition to his commercial work, Rocky has developed scripts and pitches that have successfully entered the film industry.
Over the years, Rocky’s screenplays have garnered recognition, being shortlisted for prestigious international competitions such as The Script Lab Screenplay Competition and WriteLA. In 2023, he was selected to participate in the nationwide talent incubator program, PLATFORM: LABS, held at the Sydney Film Festival while in 2024, Rocky was chosen for the inaugural PLATFORM: MARGINS program, which focuses on developing rising Script Editors by adapting successful plays from the Belvoir St. Theatre Company into screenplays.
Recently, Rocky served as a script consultant on award-winning writer/director Jason Raftopoulos’ sophomore feature film Voices in Deep, starring Angeliki Papoulia (The Lobster), which premiered at the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) and was showcased In Competition at SxSW Sydney and Thessaloniki Film Festival, Greece. Additionally, he developed the original pitch for the absurd comedy feature film The Emu War, starring comedian Damian Callinan (The Merger). Currently, Rocky is co-writing a feature film in conjunction with Small Village Films and Exile Entertainment.
