“Video allows us to tell the great stories of our customers, rather than our own.” This idea has shaped my journey over the past 20 years in the media and communications world. I’ve had the privilege of exploring diverse fields – health, defence, sports, lifestyle, and entertainment – each teaching me something unique about storytelling.
I genuinely love collaborating with others. Whether it’s teaming up with media outlets or working alongside creative minds in the industry, I find that the best stories come to life through shared experiences. As Maya Angelou said, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” That drives me to help others express their narratives.
Mentoring is also close to my heart. I believe in the strength of a team, and I’ve seen firsthand how much we can achieve together. Watching my students and colleagues grow is one of my greatest joys.
Throughout my career, I’ve learned to embrace challenges. It’s true what Peter Drucker said: “The greatest danger in times of turbulence is not the turbulence – it is to act with yesterday’s logic.” I try to keep that in mind when tackling new projects. Every obstacle is an opportunity for creativity, and I love finding innovative solutions.
With a Bachelor’s in Communications focusing on Media Production and a sub-major in Public Relations, I’ve also had the chance to teach at TAFESA in Screen and Media. Creating lesson plans and engaging students in discussions about storytelling fuels my passion. I often find inspiration from my own experiences and aim to instil a love for the craft in my students.
I’m constantly learning and adapting. I work with various broadcast and audio/visual equipment and am comfortable with software like Adobe Creative Suite and Final Cut Pro. Each new project brings fresh challenges and excitement. Steve Jobs once said, “Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower,” and I strive to lead by staying curious and open-minded.
As I look ahead, I’m thrilled about the chance to dive into new projects. I’m eager to continue telling stories that matter and creating impactful moments that resonate with audiences.
Ultimately…
